MAISON CRIVELLI DEBUTS IN NIGERIA WITH TWO EXPERIENTIAL EVENTS IN LAGOS

The French Haute Perfumery house marks its first official presence in Nigeria with immersive, community-led activations in Lagos.

Lagos — December 19, 2025.Maison Crivelli has made its first official appearance in Nigeria, hosting a series of intimate experiential events in Lagos that introduce the brand’s multisensory approach to perfumery. The activations mark a new chapter in the Maison’s expansion across the African continent.

Founder Thibaud Crivelli was present to engage directly with guests and celebrate the brand’s entry into the Nigerian market. Following several years of growth in South Africa, Lagos emerged as a natural next step, driven by a strong and already established Nigerian customer base familiar with the brand both locally and abroad.

“It is a genuine pleasure to visit Nigeria for the first time and to take part in this remarkable holiday season in December. Lagos was an obvious choice, given the enthusiastic support of our Nigerian customers, many of whom have long engaged with the brand beyond the continent,” said Thibaud Crivelli, Founder.

TWO IMMERSIVE EVENTS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ALÁRA

Maison Crivelli’s Lagos debut was realised in collaboration with Alára, the brand’s retail partner in Nigeria, through two curated gatherings designed to reflect the Maison’s experiential philosophy.

December 17 — Seated Dinner at NOK by Alára

An intimate dinner brought together 60 cultural figures from Lagos for a culinary experience inspired by the Maison Crivelli Holiday Season. The bespoke menu bridged NOK’s African culinary foundations with French bistronomy, featuring blackened catfish with plantains, lamb finished with gold flakes, Agege toast, and a chocolate tart embossed with the Maison Crivelli monogram, paired with hibiscus sorbet — a signature note of the house. A curated vinyl soundscape blending jazz and Nigerian classics completed the evening.

December 18 — In-Store Cocktail at Alára

The second event welcomed tastemakers and loyal members of Alára’s community into the store, where guests explored Maison Crivelli’s fragrance universe through a dedicated holiday installation. Featured fragrances included bestsellers Hibiscus Mahajád and Oud Maracujà.

“Partnering with Alára to open an official point of sale allows us to expand our presence in Africa thoughtfully, ensuring controlled growth and carefully managed distribution,” said Crivelli.

A STRATEGIC STEP INTO WEST AFRICA

The Lagos activations reflect Maison Crivelli’s intention to engage African audiences through small-scale, experience-driven moments that prioritise dialogue and cultural exchange. This first chapter in Nigeria forms part of a broader reflection on the brand’s long-term development across African markets.

“Our first step into Africa was through South Africa, leveraging our relationship with Skins in the Netherlands. Since then, we’ve seen a strong connection with African and Afro-descendant consumers globally, particularly with our perfume extracts,” Crivelli noted.

A CURATED COMMUNITY

Across both events, Thibaud Crivelli and Reni Folawiyo welcomed a curated guest list of artists, designers, photographers, and cultural contributors shaping Lagos’ creative landscape. Attendees included Ruger, Lojay, Bnxn, Nifemi Bello, Yoon Ambush, Lisa Folawiyo, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, Daniel Obasi, Stephen Tayo, and stylist Dunsin Wright.

The decision to develop the brand in Africa is both strategic and deeply personal. There is a natural affinity between our olfactory universe and African sensibilities — vibrant, rich, and full of life — which helps explain the resonance our fragrances continue to find here,” Crivelli added.
