Post-Imperial x THIS IS US Present “Fantastic Man” Spring/Summer 2026 Capsule

Reframing Nigerian Menswear Through Craft and Cultural Exchange

Lagos, Nigeria — 2026 — Post-Imperial and THIS IS US introduce Fantastic Man, a Spring/Summer 2026 collaboration that positions Nigerian menswear within a global context through craft, music, and contemporary identity.

The collection draws from the legacy of William Onyeabor, whose work merged futurist thinking with a distinctly Nigerian perspective. This influence informs a design approach that balances ease and structure, proposing a wardrobe shaped by movement across cities, disciplines, and cultural environments.

At its core, Fantastic Man reflects a shared dialogue between both brands — combining Post-Imperial’s expressive tailoring, rooted in diasporic narratives, with THIS IS US’s materially grounded practice centred on local production and craft systems.

The collection introduces relaxed yet tailored silhouettes constructed from breathable cotton, integrating indigo-dyed textiles and detailed finishing. Elements such as piped collars, layered weaves, and subtly distressed hems establish a design language that moves between heritage techniques and contemporary form.

Across the collection, the “Fantastic Man” is framed as a fluid figure — operating between professions, geographies, and creative disciplines. Whether entrepreneur, legal professional, or cultural practitioner, the unifying thread is an engagement with creativity as both environment and practice.

Production draws on THIS IS US’s established network, including locally sourced cotton and indigo dyeing traditions from Kano, while Post-Imperial contributes its emphasis on textile experimentation and structured tailoring. The result is a set of garments designed to transition across contexts, reflecting both utility and considered design.
