A Home for Design, Craft and Community
“We wanted to create a space that feels like home — a place where people can linger, connect, and take in the world of THIS IS US.

THIS IS US™ has opened its flagship store in Onikan, Lagos Island, a restored three-story tropical modernist building that brings together retail, craftsmanship, and community—strengthening the brand’s mission to build a home for contextual, locally informed Nigerian design.
The store was officially unveiled on 8 November 2025 at the tail-end of Fashion Season into Art Week in the vibrant city of Lagos, bringing together collaborators, friends of the brand, customers and members of the international art community. This marked a significant expansion for the homegrown Nigerian brand known for its commitment to local textiles, design and craft.

Located steps away from the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History and directly behind the brand’s manufacturing studio, the flagship sits at the centre of a growing creative district, surrounded by IAMISIGO and Plan B Lagos.
The three-story building — originally designed in the 1970s by architect Akintunde Tejuoso — has been renovated into a multifunctional design space in collaboration with Papa Omotayo and MOE+ Art Architecture.

The flagship houses three key spaces:
1. Retail Floor
Featuring THIS IS US pieces and a curated selection of Nigerian design brands.
2. Maker Studio
A dedicated space for craftsmanship, experimentation, and textile research.
3. Creative Residence
Designed to host artists, collaborators, and slow-making practitioners (opening March 2026).

The interior showcases design and art pieces from collaborators including Omi Collective, Nmbello Studios, Butlers Archive, Fantastic Plastic, IAMISIGO Home, Sola Olulode, and Fiyin Koko. Photography by Daniel Uwaga documents the textures and energy of the space.

Founders Oroma and Osione Itegboje:
“We wanted to create a space that feels like home — a place where people can linger, connect, and take in the world of THIS IS US.

This building reflects where we started, who we’ve become, and the community that continues to shape our story.”

Founded in 2016 after a journey across Northern Nigeria, THIS IS US™ is a Lagos-based design brand rooted in Nigerian craft, textile innovation, and community. The brand works closely with artisans in Funtua, Kano, and Lagos Island, using locally grown cotton and indigo-dyeing techniques from the historic Kofar Mata pits.

Its collections span signature tees, workwear-inspired silhouettes, cross-disciplinary collaborations, and home accessories. Through design, the brand continues its commitment to longevity, zero-waste processes, re-dye services and creative exchange.
