In February 2025, Clearly Invincible introduced the Africa Fashion Weeks Calendar. A curated, centralised resource that tracks key fashion weeks across the continent. Now, with an updated edition: a refined and expanded version that reflects new entries through research and submissions, improved accuracy and broader regional representation. The calendar is a centralised resource for designers, media, enthusiasts and sponsors, providing vital information for event planning, fashion coverage, and collaborations. With a growing focus on eco-conscious fashion and industry contributions, it serves as an essential tool for keeping track of Africa's fast-growing fashion scene.

This update highlights fashion weeks across North, West, East, Central, Southern Africa and one diasporan category. Each inclusion is guided by a clear set of criteria designed to spotlight events that are actively shaping the fashion landscape.
Our primary criteria for the selected fashion weeks are:
 • Consistent operations (for certain fashion weeks, we've taken into account infrastructural challenges that may have led to brief pauses)
 • Quality in the show's production
 • Overall contribution to the circulating of Africa's fashion economy
 • Support for eco-conscious fashion and responsible production

Updates and corrections reflected in this edition include:Â
• Dakar Fashion Week moved from June to DecemberÂ
• South African Menswear Week moved from May to April and now happens twice a year, including OctoberÂ
• South African Fashion Week founded by Lucilla Booyzen is currently pausedÂ
• African Fashion Week Nigeria has moved back to Nigeria from LondonÂ
• AFI Cape Town Fashion Week did not happen this year — the last event took place in July 2024 (calendar schedule continues to show September)Â
• Rwanda Fashion Week updated for accuracyÂ
• Soweto Fashion Week moved from May to NovemberÂ
• GTCO Fashion Weekend marks 10 yearsÂ
• Windhoek Fashion Week marks 10 yearsÂ
• Newly added platforms: Eco Fashion Week, Egypt Fashion Week, and LA Fashion Week
Why this calendar matters
Fashion in Africa is no longer emerging. It is establishing itself as the new face of global luxury. From Lagos to Nairobi to Tunis, designers are reimagining what high fashion looks like and where it comes from. Yet while the creativity is undeniable, the infrastructure is still catching up. This calendar is part of an effort to change that.
By centralising information and increasing visibility, we're helping strengthen the foundation needed to support Africa's fashion economy.
